Fall Business Meeting
The Fall Business Meeting date is October 19, located in the Holiday Inn, 3105 Pine St., downtown Everett from 9am to 5pm. New Officers are to be elected at that time. For anyone wishing to stay overnight, the corporate rate they are offering is $99/night. Handicapped rooms are available. The ph#'s are 425-339-2001 or 866-700-1188. Let them know you are with Polio Outreach. You need to make your own arrangements to stay over, but limited partial assistance may be available from POOW.
Picnic
The POOW picnic was held Sunday August 22 at the Auburn Game Farm Park in Auburn Wa. The weather was cool, overcast with occasional sunbreaks
A good time was had by all, though we may have seen a passing of an era. There were no competitors for the baloon toss or the scooter race.
All enjoyed a talk by author Peg Kehret. She writes childrens books and also a Polio autobiography "Small Steps". Entertainment was provided
by Debbie Wooten, a professional entertainer and polio survivor, -a great act!
